Ashley and Matt got engaged in a canoe on Fairy Lake... so it only seemed fitting to return there for their engagement photos a few months later. We were buffeted by the craziest gusts of wind, followed by periods of stillness, the entire time we were there, but these two somehow managed to look completely comfortable anyway. We're excited to shoot their wedding this coming June!
We were honored to be asked to contribute to this gorgeous editorial, shot at beautiful Aspen Ridge Ranch outside of Red Lodge, Montana. It is in print now in the fall/winter issue of Rocky Mountain Bride! Cuba is a beautifully interesting place about to undergo a rapid change, I'm afraid. As you can see, La Habana Cuba is a mixture of both old and......well old. Unlike most older cities, La Habana, just doesn't share the architectural juxtaposition of what we view to be the historic pieces of interest and the 21st century style of laying bare and reshaping with our glowing announcements of modern convenience, otherwise known as urban renewal; not yet anyways. It has been said that the architecture here is it's 'golden egg'; if you visit, I imagine that you would agree. I wish that I could honestly say that the architectural stall of the 1960s had a significant impact on my choice of equipment, it just didn't I just happen to shoot 90% of my personal work on a circa 1960 Hasselblad 500c anyways. Note the square format. Apparently, a perfect match...
